He was making beats. She was in the choir. Fairfax, Virginia — years before either of us thought this was a job.
Then different colleges in different states, and a year of making records over Skype because that was the only way to make them. After graduation we moved to Miami, put a name on it, and put out The Ride in July 2015.
Nothing sounded like what we wanted to hear, so we stopped trying to fit a lane and named our own: vocal bass. Her voice on top, the low end underneath. That's still the whole idea.
Rise Above got out of our hands and kept going, and Insomniac licensed it. We opened for Skrillex. We played our first festival at Life in Color, in the city we'd just moved to.
Ten years later it's still the two of us, and the story is still the reason the music exists.
